This year, slaughtering took place on the 8-10 December over a period of 18 hours. Accompanied by the reading of the name of each donator to each Qurban, a total of 7930 sheep were slaughtered.  

Separated each into 6 pieces, the Qurban sheep were individually packaged and sent to Indonesia as a total of 47,580 pieces. In every package was the following message to the people of Indonesia whom it would be delivered to;

      Mahmud Es’ad Cosan Foundation loves you.
      Love Allah (s.w.t.) and read His message.
      The Holy Qur’an, Surah; Insan, Ayah; 8-10

In order to strengthen the work of the MEC foundation and to ease organization, a foundation named SERVER FOUNDATION INDONESIA has been established in Yogyakarta region. This foundation played an active and very important role in this year’s distribution and insaAllah will continue to do so as we require assistance in region in many years to come.  

After shipment and long custom procedures in Jakarta the containers were available for distribution and immediately delivered to distribution city of Yogyakarta, until they handed to final receivers the Qurban meats maintained -21°C state.  

The majority of this year’s Qurban was distributed to earthquake victims in Yogyakarta due to its obviously visible poverty. The smiling faces and happiness of the people receiving the Qurban meat was always present and a major motivation for everyone.

Through the use of 8 trucks and a team of 120 people, the Qurban was distributed to Yogjayakarta City, Bantul, Sleman, Gunung Kidul & Kulon Progo. Over the course of 5 days, the meat was successfully distributed and handed to those in real truly need.

Throughout distribution, Yogyakarta’s top ranked local authorities and the daughter of the Yogyakarta Region Sultan Hamengkubuwono followed activities personally and expressed pleasure and admiration on many events.

The distribution by MEC Foundation was followed by a group of approximately 20 reporters. The work of the Foundation was covered widely and published in Indonesian media in newspapers and tv channels.

Well-known MEC Foundation and Server Foundation were praised by local population and they appreciated the donation which was mainly from Turkey.  

Adding this year’s 47,580 families to which Qurban was distributed, to the previously helped 70,000 families, the MEC Foundation has now distributed Qurban meats to a total of 117,000 families in Indonesia.
